The Order Sons of Italy in America is the oldest and largest national organization in the United States of Italian men and women. It was founded in 1905 to help early Italian immigrants. It has become today the nation’s leading Italian American service and advocacy organization. OSIA has more than 700 lodges coast to coast. Membership in OSIA can be a personally rewarding experience, for it allows both women and men an exploration of one’s leadership abilities and ethnic enhancement. Founded in 1905, the OSIA is considered by many to be the premier community grassroots organization. Local lodges sponsor activities, which relate to the communities in which they are located. Now, more than 100 years later, OSIA finds itself with generations of Americans of Italian descent, the grandchildren and great grandchildren of immigrants, many of whom want to hold membership in an organization firm in family values and cultural heritage.

The Grand Lodge of Maryland has more than a dozen local lodges throughout the state. We welcome you to join our order and get involved with us in our worthwhile charitable fundraising events that benefit national and local Maryland charities. The Grand Lodge and local lodges in Maryland offer yearly scholarships to member’s families.

We at the Grand Lodge of Maryland are proud of our Italian heritage. We realize that times change and cultural practices fade away.

Regardless of your type of membership, be assured that OSIA is one, one in purpose, goal and direction, all of which provides personal satisfaction in participating in a social and fraternal way in one multi-faceted and, oftentimes, complex society. OSIA has proven it is an organization of the times from generation to generation for almost 100 years.

Maintain your Italian heritage! We are preparing a new table, are you ready?
